Responsibilities
- Apply statistical analysis and analytical skills to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges.
- Develop tools that diagnose problems faster and more independently.
- Define, implement, and mine data feeds from Akamai’s internal sources to produce insights.
- Build software tools and systems that automate analytical tasks and workflows.
- Define performance indicators, analyze factors affecting them, and develop forecasting and early-warning systems.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to guide adoption of features and processes.
- Influence company decision-making and identify areas for new technology investment.
Requirements
- PhD or master’s degree in computer science or another quantitative field.
- Academic or industrial experience with statistical data analysis.
- Experience coding in Python, C, or C++.
- Experience with Internet protocols including DNS, HTTP, TLS, and TCP.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively across teams.
