Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable distributed services and foundational components for cross-cloud and enterprise data federation.
  • Own complex initiatives end to end, from architectural design and prototype validation through reviews and global production rollout.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, including design reviews, engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
  • Communicate architecture, project status, and technical trade-offs to engineering, product management, site reliability, and external partners.
  • Influence the BigLake Federation technical roadmap in collaboration with global engineering leads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience using one or more general-purpose programming languages such as C++, Java, Go, or Python.
  • Experience in system design, distributed systems, or large-scale data processing.
  • Preferred experience with cloud platforms, multi-cloud environments, or big data technologies.
  • Preferred experience with open-source data ecosystems such as Apache Iceberg or Apache Spark, or enterprise data platforms such as Workday or Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including driving ambiguous initiatives from design to production and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
