Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance Java services for sports data and betting products.
  • Own complex technical initiatives independently from initial design and architecture through production delivery and post-incident review.
  • Contribute to cloud-native architecture and platform-wide technical decisions on AWS.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and constructive feedback.
  • Improve code quality, test coverage, engineering practices, and team standards.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical direction and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience with strong Java expertise.
  • Ability to independently design and deliver distributed systems in production and understand their operational requirements.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex initiatives, including architecture decisions and post-incident reviews.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and conducting direct, constructive technical reviews.
  • Deep understanding of testing strategy, CI/CD, and engineering excellence.
  • Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, and microservices at scale is a strong advantage.
