Base Salary
$160k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own a portion of the underwriting and pricing platform end to end, from requirements through development, QA, and production.
- Build and extend underwriting decisioning systems, implement risk rules, onboard external data sources, and improve pricing capabilities.
- Lead technical design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, write maintainable code, and participate in code review.
- Partner with Product, Design, Operations, Risk analysts, and Engineering to prioritize and deliver solutions.
- Manage complex engineering work independently, communicate progress and risks, and meet commitments and deadlines.
- Ensure work complies with applicable policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend services with systems languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C#.
- Ability to independently execute complex engineering projects from design through delivery.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Familiarity with production operations and web infrastructure, including caching, Kubernetes, API gateways, observability, and deployment patterns.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservice architecture.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI and infrastructure management using Terraform.
- Ability to manage complex features end to end and collaborate effectively with product and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with workflow orchestration or ML infrastructure is preferred.
