Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain features for SBOM generation and software composition analysis scanning engines.
- Use agentic AI coding tools such as Claude, Copilot, and Cursor for development, testing, and code review while prompting, verifying, and iterating with judgment.
- Track emerging AI coding technologies and help adopt tools that improve developer experience.
- Build and improve data pipelines ingesting package registry, vulnerability, and license data at scale.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews with senior engineers.
- Investigate detection accuracy issues and improve scan quality.
- Collaborate with QA, product, and engineering teams across the software composition analysis platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3+ years of professional experience.
- Strong data structures and algorithms fundamentals and proficiency in at least one systems or backend language: Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or Rust.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT on actual projects.
- Understanding of core machine learning concepts including classification, embeddings, and evaluation metrics, plus experience parsing, transforming, and analyzing structured or unstructured data.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to read and communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Rust experience, including through personal projects, coursework, or open-source contributions, is preferred.
- Exposure to LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or AI-assisted features is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Linux environments is preferred.
- Open-source contributions are preferred.
