Responsibilities
- Design and develop core functionality for distributed database systems.
- Create architectures and designs that address complex scalability challenges.
- Improve system robustness and performance.
- Implement comprehensive functional and system tests for database components and overall database quality.
- Debug issues, conduct root cause analysis, and diagnose defects.
- Participate in release and deployment processes.
- Own services end to end from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and customer support.
Requirements
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in systems or database internals programming.
- 6+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in distributed computing, including system architecture, communication, distributed consensus, and transactional protocols.
- Strong understanding of low-level operating system concepts, including multithreading, memory management, networking, storage, performance, and scale.
- Strong Java or C programming skills.
- MS or PhD in databases or distributed systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and innovation skills.

- For Ontario-based roles, the base salary range is CAD 154,700 to CAD 204,700 annually, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.
