Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and delivery of complex ERP features and technical initiatives.
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, data models, and user-facing functionality.
- Work with complex relational data models to maintain data integrity, consistency, and efficient database operations.
- Investigate technical challenges across existing systems and technologies and implement effective solutions.
- Own production reliability for delivered features, including incident fixes and monitoring improvements.
- Set code-quality standards through code reviews, automated testing, and sound engineering practices.
- Collaborate with Product and engineering teams to shape requirements and evaluate technical approaches.
- Mentor intermediate developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing, hiring, and onboarding.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience building and operating production systems that businesses depend on.
- Strong computer science fundamentals based on a computer science degree or distinctive work experience in software development.
- Strong data modeling and relational database skills, ideally including multi-tenant systems.
- Experience designing and building backend services and APIs, with enough frontend experience to own a feature in the UI.
- Experience safely shipping changes to live systems using feature flags, incremental rollouts, and reversible data migrations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Strong initiative, decision-making, delivery, communication, learning, and adaptability skills.
- Preferred experience with Python and Django, Next.js or React, ERP/accounting or business management software, and Windows desktop applications using C++ or comparable technologies.
