Base Salary

$193k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year technical vision and architecture for the customer-facing platform, designing for scale and reliability.
  • Review critical designs across organizations and lead architecture for the company’s hardest technical challenges.
  • Own company initiatives spanning onboarding, compliance including KYC and identity, and customer support from ambiguity through long-term production operation.
  • Define strategic technology and product direction and connect technical bets to company objectives.
  • Plan and deliver complex cross-organizational programs with dependencies across teams and systems.
  • Define engineering patterns, operational guidelines, and practices and extend process improvements across teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to the most complex system problems while raising security, reliability, and quality standards.
  • Mentor engineers and future leaders, delegate to grow others, and lead initiatives beyond the core area of expertise.
  • Drive strategic engineering vision, healthy engineering culture, recruiting, and technical bar-raising.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience building and operating complex production systems at scale.
  • Recognized expertise in one or two technical domains with end-to-end accountability for company-level systems or initiatives.
  • Experience driving architecture and design for difficult technical challenges across multiple teams or organizations.
  • Ability to set technical vision with company-level impact and make increasingly strategic engineering decisions.
  • Fluency across backend services plus web and/or mobile surfaces, with willingness to work deeply where needed.
  • Proficiency in a typed language such as TypeScript, Scala, Java, or Go, plus comfort with JavaScript or TypeScript on web and mobile surfaces.
  • Experience building consumer-facing applications with strong product and UX sensibility.
  • Fluency with AI coding tools and automation, including a perspective on advancing agentic development practices.
  • Track record of developing engineers and leaders, influencing prioritization, and leading cross-domain initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build alignment across organizations.
  • Preferred experience in crypto or fintech, onboarding, identity/KYC, compliance, customer support tooling, production AI agents or agentic workflows, React or React Native, cloud or microservices architecture, data-driven product strategy, experimentation, or external technical representation.
