Senior Software Engineer - Backend Platform

Responsibilities
- Design and evolve distributed systems in Go to handle billions of daily events and messages and store and index petabytes of data
- Lead architectural decisions involving performance, reliability, and real-time event processing
- Improve service-to-service communication through APIs, messaging systems, and event-driven patterns
- Identify bottlenecks and system issues across teams and lead initiatives to resolve them
- Address high-throughput challenges across data pipelines, queues, and scheduling infrastructure
- Debug and resolve production systems issues at scale using effective instrumentation
- Share knowledge through short videos, writing, and mentorship
- Use AI tools to prototype and improve decision-making
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of experience building scalable distributed systems in Go or similar statically typed languages
- Deep experience with distributed systems and large-scale backend architecture
- Strong understanding of reliability, observability, fault tolerance, performance, and capacity planning
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres and non-relational databases such as DynamoDB and BigTable
- Comfort working in cloud-native environments using AWS and GCP
- Familiarity with APIs and operating production systems at scale
- Experience with event-driven systems, message queues, or data pipelines is a plus
- Ability to lead technical direction and large-scale infrastructure initiatives
- Collaborative mindset with strong ownership, customer focus, and mentorship skills
