Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of IV&V test strategies across HITL, MITL, SITL, and real locomotive environments.
- Review system requirements and functional specifications to define test strategies and create test plans and procedures.
- Execute system-level tests, analyze results, and approve software readiness for deployment.
- Create and track defects and deviations through lifecycle tools to ensure proper resolution.
- Develop automation scripts for testing, data collection, and reporting.
- Perform validation against requirements and interface specifications and support test-environment setup and optimization.
- Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, laboratory teams, external partners, and global stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Generate status reports, communicate risks and progress, and continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Contribute independently to technical decisions and program objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Extensive experience in design, testing, or validation engineering, including strong IV&V and system-level validation experience.
- Hands-on experience with HITL, MITL, SITL, or system-level testing; rail or automotive experience is preferred.
- Experience developing test procedures for control software and embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of control systems and RS232/422, CAN, and Ethernet communication protocols.
- Experience with test lifecycle tools such as ClearQuest or equivalent.
- Experience with SysML tools such as MagicDraw and DOORS or equivalent is desired.
- Experience with Python, Simulink Test, NI LabVIEW, test automation frameworks, and application lifecycle management tools is desired.
- Knowledge of locomotive control systems or complex embedded systems is desired.
- Experience in engine control, traction systems, or battery management is desired.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, hands-on lab and field capability, and availability to travel less than 25%.
