Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical vision for Kubernetes and cloud-native platform capabilities.
- Design, build, and evolve large-scale Kubernetes platforms and reusable platform services, operators, automation tooling, and developer self-service capabilities.
- Lead architecture, design, code review, engineering standards, testing strategies, and software quality practices across teams.
- Develop CI/CD frameworks, developer workflows, deployment automation, release management solutions, and other DevOps capabilities.
- Lead complex technical programs, platform modernization initiatives, and cross-functional execution across multiple teams.
- Drive reliability engineering, incident analysis, monitoring, logging, tracing, security, compliance, and operational excellence for platform services.
- Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders and influence technical decisions across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 8+ years building large-scale cloud-native, DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering solutions.
- Experience leading organization-wide technical initiatives and complex engineering programs.
- Expert-level proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Extensive experience designing and developing production-grade distributed systems, including architecture, scalability, resiliency, and performance engineering.
- Strong enterprise-scale Kubernetes experience, including hands-on development of Kubernetes Operators, Controllers, Admission Controllers, or custom platform extensions.
- Deep expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and related container ecosystem tools.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, ArgoCD, Flux, or Jenkins.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Extensive experience with Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Experience with modern SDLC practices, DevSecOps, platform adoption, and developer productivity initiatives.
- Preferred experience includes Internal Developer Platforms, Kubernetes networking, service meshes, ingress, gateway APIs, traffic management, multi-cluster and multi-region environments, API gateways, edge routing, and service-to-service communication.
- Preferred experience includes observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk, as well as security engineering, policy enforcement, workload identity, secrets management, zero-trust architectures, and cloud modernization.
- Experience influencing engineering organizations of 100+ engineers, contributing to open source or cloud-native communities, or demonstrating thought leadership in platform engineering is preferred.
