Responsibilities
- Configure and manage AWS and GCP cloud infrastructure and services.
- Monitor and fine-tune cloud systems, utilization metrics, alarms, and resource costs.
- Perform software upgrades, kernel patching, errata patching, disaster recovery, and data backups.
- Maintain continuous integration, system configuration management, security practices, production applications, and system pipelines.
- Own and execute the release process across all environments.
- Investigate and help resolve production issues while responding to alerts and inquiries.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements to infrastructure systems, practices, and processes.
Requirements
- Experienced in cloud operations and supporting complex technical products alongside engineering teams.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Redshift, Route 53, CodeDeploy, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch Service, Kinesis, CloudWatch, and SQS, or equivalent GCP services.
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, Chef, Terraform, Ansible, and Serverless.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and fundamental networking troubleshooting knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness to connectivity issues, alerts, and inquiries via Slack.
- Coding or scripting knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to work some U.S. timezone hours for team meetings and other activities.
- Ability to carry a company-provided mobile phone with Slack installed at all times.
