Responsibilities
- Build embedded software prototypes for ML-powered audio features on wearables.
- Design, implement, deploy, and optimize deep learning models, data structures, and algorithms on resource-constrained devices.
- Research and implement efficient deep learning methods including quantization, pruning, neural architecture search, and knowledge distillation for audio problems.
- Train and evaluate deep learning models for headphones, earbuds, soundbars, portable speakers, and other consumer audio devices.
- Evaluate neural network hardware accelerators for low-power wearable devices and communicate vendor technology tradeoffs to leadership.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in Python for model conversion, evaluation, or tooling workflows.
- Strong experience implementing deep neural networks with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.
- Demonstrated cross-group and cross-culture collaboration, independent work, and creative problem-solving.
- Preferred: prior Software or ML engineering internship or work experience.
- Preferred: experience deploying ML models on edge or resource-constrained MCU, DSP, or NPU devices.
- Preferred: background in audio deep learning and digital signal processing.
