Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and operationalization of machine learning models and data solutions.
- Guide model training, validation, optimization, fine-tuning, and performance improvement.
- Provide strategic technical direction for maintainable, scalable, high-quality software and solution architecture.
- Guide the implementation of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, model monitoring, and cloud-native deployment.
- Translate business requirements into integrated production solutions through collaboration with analysts, data scientists, software engineers, platform engineers, QA testers, IT operations, and project managers.
- Provide ongoing production support, including incident and problem management, root cause analysis, request fulfillment, security compliance, fault repair, resiliency testing, and observability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering model development, deployment workflows, operational procedures, code, designs, and user manuals.
- Research advancements in machine learning and MLOps and implement innovations that improve the company’s ML capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or at least 9 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 6 years of experience in machine learning, MLOps, and/or software development.
- Proficiency with software development lifecycle practices, particularly MLOps and DevOps, and with software development tools, platforms, and cloud technologies.
- Experience developing, integrating, testing, and deploying cloud-based or internet-related software solutions.
- Expertise in relational databases and SQL, plus experience with data science or statistics related to machine learning.
- Proven experience developing microservices and knowledge of integration patterns, web services, APIs, solution architecture, and systems integration.
- Experience with generative AI systems such as LLM-based chatbots, RAG systems, and agentic workflows.
- Experience using generative AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, model monitoring, containerization, source control, build tools, compilers, and software testing and quality assurance tools.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, MLflow, and GitHub is preferred or required as listed in the technical qualifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment-visa sponsorship.
- Must be at least 18 years old; CSDP or equivalent certification is preferred.
