Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead research, design, and implementation of AI algorithms for computer vision, image and video analysis, multimodal data, and action models.
- Contribute to surgical AI and robotics pipelines by integrating, testing, and evaluating vision-action and vision-language-action models.
- Develop AI techniques and infrastructure from initial concepts through running prototypes and products.
- Develop validation methods, datasets, pipelines, and evaluation metrics for large clinical datasets.
- Integrate new machine learning and computer vision algorithms into current and future robotic platforms.
- Collaborate with users and clinical advisors to iterate prototype designs based on feedback and performance.
- Advance research in computer vision, robotics, and multimodal data fusion through patents and publications.
- Develop technologies and digital products that improve surgeon and team performance on robotic surgery platforms.
- Support academic collaborations in related fields.
Requirements
- Master's degree with at least six years of industry experience developing computer vision and machine learning applications, or a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least three years of experience.
- Strong experience building learning systems covering data collection, training, evaluation, and iterative improvement.
- Strong publication record in venues such as CVPR, ICCV, or MICCAI.
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch and proficiency in Python, C/C++, and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with control systems, robotics, kinematics, dynamics, multithreaded programming, and debugging or profiling.
- Hands-on experience with GPU-accelerated algorithms and state-of-the-art AI, VFM, or vision-action models.
- Strong understanding of computer vision, machine learning, generative models, and deep learning.
- Experience with visualization tools is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively, drive research directions, and operate effectively with incomplete requirements.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5–15% of the time.
- Ability to view live and recorded surgical procedures.
