Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize high-availability Java microservices for the Payments Acceptance platform and Value-Added Services.
- Develop automated, self-healing services using infrastructure automation, modern delivery pipelines, and reliability practices.
- Configure and maintain Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry telemetry tooling to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead blameless post-mortems to improve system reliability.
- Build and adopt internal Golden Paths that streamline software delivery and improve engineering velocity.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers while promoting high code quality and testing standards.
- Own service functionality end-to-end, including security, performance, low latency, and external customer traffic.
- Integrate AI-augmented development tools and agentic workflows into software engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience owning features in complex, high-throughput distributed systems and mission-critical environments.
- Proficiency in Java and modern frameworks including Spring and Spring Boot, with strong knowledge of distributed architecture and microservices design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, SQS, and relational database tuning and performance optimization.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or EKS, and public cloud ecosystems, preferably AWS.
- Understanding of secure coding, API security, and regulated compliance frameworks including PCI-DSS and SOC2.
- Preferred qualifications include tokenization, payment processing, security product, or direct payments experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Network Tokens, Account Updater, or 3DS.
- Preferred qualifications include AI developer tools or agentic automation experience and database performance tuning in high-concurrency production environments.
- A BA/BS degree is preferred.
