Base Salary
$200k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Operate Salient’s infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Render to a consistent standard.
- Bring infrastructure resources under Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure-as-code system using reusable modules, consistent environments, and drift detection.
- Forecast demand, manage capacity and quotas, and tune autoscaling for real-time voice and AI workloads.
- Implement cost attribution, product and customer allocation, unit-cost metrics, dashboards, budgets, and anomaly alerts.
- Identify and deliver cloud savings through rightsizing, commitments, cleanup, consolidation, and provider changes.
- Own platform reliability, observability, incident response, and post-mortem follow-through.
- Design secure, auditable infrastructure supporting SOC 2 and customer security requirements.
Requirements
- Production infrastructure experience with AWS and/or GCP at meaningful scale and comfort operating across cloud providers.
- Experience managing infrastructure as code and bringing manually built environments under control.
- Demonstrated cloud cost savings experience, including understanding pricing models, commitments, and data transfer costs.
- Experience planning capacity for spiky or latency-sensitive workloads and tuning autoscaling in production.
- Experience building monitoring and alerting, leading incidents, and designing for least privilege, auditability, and safe change management.
- Clear written communication and ability to explain cost and reliability tradeoffs to engineering, finance, and company leadership.
- Preferred: experience with real-time voice, telephony, WebRTC, or streaming systems.
- Preferred: experience running GPU or LLM inference workloads or managing hosted AI API spend.
- Preferred: FinOps practice or certification experience and/or experience in regulated financial services.
