Base Salary
$182k - $247k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for the Lakebase Manager and ensure quality and reliability.
- Drive architecture and design while writing code for complex projects.
- Uphold high technical standards through reviews and a culture of excellence.
- Mentor engineers and enhance their skills in distributed systems.
- Define service level indicators and drive reliability improvements.
- Lead cross-team initiatives and align with partner teams on dependencies.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership on the technical roadmap.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven track record of technical leadership as an individual contributor.
- Strong hands-on experience in system design and production code writing.
- Experience with reliability-critical services and incident response.
- Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term stability.
- Skilled in aligning multiple stakeholders on competing priorities.
- Proficient in Go, Rust, or similar systems languages; PostgreSQL and Kubernetes experience is a plus.
- BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
