Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable core services and products for sennder’s freight platform.
- Design robust microservice architectures with stable interfaces, observability, metrics, and clear API contracts.
- Take a leading role in architectural design and technical decision-making.
- Lead mid-sized engineering projects from planning through delivery and operation.
- Own the full service lifecycle, including infrastructure, with support from the Platform team.
- Collaborate with product managers, other pods, and stakeholders to deliver shippable features.
- Improve engineering standards, development processes, quality, efficiency, automation, and team productivity.
- Help scale the engineering organization and evolve backend, DevOps culture, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building and operating reliable, scalable web applications in production.
- Strong hands-on Python experience across backend services at Senior Engineer level.
- Strong backend engineering skills and understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and modern REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Kafka; Kafka experience is required.
- Frontend development experience with hands-on Vue.js knowledge.
- Practical experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with GitLab is beneficial.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and ownership skills, with professional English proficiency.
