Responsibilities
- Architect, build, test, deliver, and maintain resilient distributed software systems at global scale.
- Own software solutions across the full lifecycle, from architecture and design through production operations.
- Drive technical discussions, define architecture and engineering strategy, and build consensus across teams and external partners.
- Write specifications and documentation, review code, mentor peers, and lead complex projects from conception to production.
- Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and provide on-call support for high-volume services.
Requirements
- Extensive experience architecting, building, and maintaining mission-critical distributed systems at large scale.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and trade-offs involving consistency, latency, and throughput.
- Advanced hands-on software development expertise with Java or Kotlin and Spring.
- Experience developing and operating high-volume REST and/or gRPC services.
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Significant experience architecting, building, and operating cloud-native applications such as AWS, including resilience, failover, and self-healing.
- Expertise designing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Extensive experience with observability strategies and tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
- Strong communication, collaboration, technical influence, project leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- No formal degree is required; demonstrated ability to apply advanced skills to real-world applications is valued.
