Responsibilities
- Design and execute performance, resilience, and chaos testing strategies for complex applications.
- Develop chaos test scenarios using Gremlin and Chaos Monkey.
- Monitor application performance and resilience with observability and application monitoring tools.
- Analyze test results and performance logs, producing actionable reports and recommendations.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Optimize test environments and improve testing frameworks for scalable, repeatable execution.
- Recommend enhancements based on industry practices in performance and resilience engineering.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in quality engineering, including at least 2 years in application resilience and performance testing.
- Advanced proficiency with JMeter for performance testing.
- Hands-on experience with HP Load Runner for load and stress testing.
- Practical expertise with Gremlin and Chaos Monkey.
- Strong understanding of observability, failure injection, circuit breaker and retry resilience patterns.
- Experience identifying and resolving performance and resilience bottlenecks.
- Ability to develop custom test scripts and configure test environments.
- Competence analyzing large datasets and performance logs.
- Preferred experience with cloud-based performance and resilience testing platforms and automation frameworks.
- Preferred knowledge of performance and chaos testing in continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Preferred familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, network protocols, and relevant web technologies.
- Associate's degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Performance testing certification such as JMeter or HP Load Runner, or quality engineering/software testing certification such as ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst, is desired.
