Responsibilities
- Guide departmental marketing and communications efforts, including branding, strategic communications, marketing strategy, social media, and promotional materials.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications, websites, and digital platforms using front-end and back-end frameworks.
- Support SaaS, enterprise, and cloud-based deployments on Shopify, Acquia, Gravyty, and AlumnIQ.
- Build custom functionality with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Liquid, and Node.js.
- Write scripts to automate deployment, configuration, and API installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in development and production environments.
- Maintain platform governance, documentation, security, accessibility, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with Information Technology teams on security, connectivity, and deployment concerns.
- Partner with Marketing Intelligence to translate audience insights into personalized experiences.
- Work with external vendors, monitor project budgets, and train others in communications technology as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience in journalism, communications, or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Three or more years of full-stack development experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Liquid, Node.js, and front-end frameworks preferred.
- Familiarity with Drupal back-end modules and PHP, YAML, and Composer preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify and Acquia preferred.
- Strong communication, professionalism, confidentiality, judgment, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, navigate a complex work environment, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Must be able to reside in Georgia and commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule.
