Base Salary
$149k - $169k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, maintain, and support software and application solutions for NYU researchers and instructors.
- Scope and architect infrastructure and computing projects aligned with AI, research cloud, HPC, and teaching needs.
- Collect computational requirements from researchers and implement appropriate software solutions.
- Consult with faculty and research teams on technical needs and help improve the competitiveness of extramural funding proposals.
- Collaborate with NYU IT teams to align research infrastructure operations and configuration with researcher and instructor needs.
- Present technical concepts through demonstrations, proposals, presentations, documentation, and customer support.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Programming experience with high-level languages such as Python, Go, and Node.js.
- Experience with databases, web frontend and backend components, software packaging and distribution such as PyPI, Git, GitHub, cloud computing, and HPC.
- Expertise with Kubernetes, DevOps or microservices development, CI/CD pipelines, and the Linux operating system.
- Excellent programming, mathematical, interpersonal, presentation, documentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree, academic or research software engineering experience, public-cloud and HPC container deployments, GenAI application development, and experience with AWS, GCP, batch scheduling, MLOps, LLMOps, and structured and unstructured data.
- Experience in consulting, collaborative, or service-oriented work with researchers or clients is preferred.
Benefits
- Annual base salary range of USD $149,000 to $169,000; additional incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, and other items are excluded from the stated base pay.
