Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to software prototyping, design, development, and selection of engineering approaches.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers to analyze, define, and implement requirements.
- Perform coding, unit testing, integration testing, and system testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Customize and integrate tools and support system release and deployment.
- Ensure software quality by following defined engineering processes and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in research, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- Extensive experience with Java, JavaScript, application frameworks, API services development, secure development practices, and enterprise integration patterns and products.
- Experience in a senior role within an engineering or project environment.
- Experience developing or supporting geospatial systems.
- Knowledge of Agile/Kanban methodologies and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience integrating and customizing systems using open-source technologies, REST, SOAP, messaging, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Australian citizenship, an active TSPV security clearance, and the ability to be successful for a DISA/OSA clearance or approval.
