Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Define the long-term architecture, technical strategy, standards, and roadmap for enterprise data infrastructure.
  • Lead architecture reviews and technical decisions across multiple organizations.
  • Architect scalable lakehouse, streaming, batch and real-time pipeline, metadata, data catalog, and data API platforms.
  • Design highly available distributed systems supporting petabyte-scale storage, replication, synchronization, ingestion, low-latency queries, multi-region deployments, disaster recovery, and fault-tolerant processing.
  • Provide AI-ready data pipelines, feature engineering infrastructure, RAG ingestion, vector databases, data governance, lineage, model data pipelines, and training data infrastructure.
  • Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and lead cross-functional architecture initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, AI infrastructure, cloud platform, business, and global teams across North America and Taiwan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading architecture for large-scale data platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Architect, or Technical Lead.
  • Deep experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms involving lakehouse architecture, data mesh, data warehousing, streaming, metadata management, data catalogs, and data governance.
  • Strong experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink, and Spark Streaming.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Apache Hudi, the Hadoop ecosystem, Airflow, and Trino.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL; Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch; and Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or MinIO.
  • Strong understanding of distributed storage, data partitioning, replication, and consistency models.
  • Programming experience with Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
  • Strong technical communication skills for global cross-functional collaboration.
  • Preferred experience includes petabyte-scale data, global enterprises, multi-region deployments, manufacturing analytics, AI platforms, real-time streaming, enterprise data governance, and hybrid cloud environments.
