Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and own scalable software services and tools for customer service operations.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and maintainability at Amazon scale.
  • Make technical decisions involving system design, technology selection, and problem-solving with limited guidance.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate on design reviews, technical direction, and improvements across team boundaries.
  • Track and analyze operational metrics to improve system performance.
  • Contribute to engineering process improvements, operational excellence, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Write technical documentation, design documents, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred: 3+ years across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
