Base Salary

$203k - $335k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a massively distributed edge compute platform with high availability and fault tolerance.
  • Develop external-facing APIs, including API design, versioning, and customer and partner interactions.
  • Optimize high-throughput Layer 7 traffic routing and use Kubernetes internals for resource management and container deployment.
  • Design and govern platform architecture, establish design reviews, and translate distributed-systems complexity into architectural tradeoffs.
  • Communicate infrastructure risks, mitigation strategies, scalability models, and reliability metrics to executive stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineering teams on distributed-systems best practices and conduct code reviews.
  • Manage technical requirements based on customer needs and collaborate with AI/ML, hardware, networking, security, and compliance teams.
  • Drive process, product, or service improvements in response to business, regulatory, and technical challenges.
  • Ensure platform security and data privacy while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with hyperscaler technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and managed services.
  • Experience building internal cloud, compute, or infrastructure services at or closely with AWS-, Azure-, GCP-, or similar-scale platforms.
  • Proven experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, including consistency models and fault tolerance.
  • Proficiency in API design and development, API versioning, and SDK foundations.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies for resource management.
  • Strong understanding of high-throughput traffic routing and network protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex technical tasks, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and data privacy regulations.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; PhD preferred.
