Senior Lead Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the cloud engineering team.
- Design and develop secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure and platform tools.
- Drive DevEx practices, CI/CD improvements, and developer tooling modernization.
- Align platform strategy and roadmaps with business priorities and lead cross-functional SDLC modernization initiatives.
- Evaluate, integrate, and govern strategic tooling to improve developer experience and reduce cognitive load.
- Identify and eliminate platform bottlenecks with development teams.
- Define and promote paved paths and self-service developer workflows.
- Implement real-time telemetry pipelines and workflows for large-scale platform observability and analytics.
- Promote developer productivity through documentation, training, office hours, and developer-community engagement.
- Standardize AI-assisted coding tools and AI-powered development ecosystems across the organization.
- Design and develop AI agents and Model Context Protocol integrations for platform automation.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Advanced knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Expertise with DevEx and tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, shift-left practices, and DevSecOps processes.
- Strong programming skills in Go or Python.
- Proficiency with Terraform, KRO, Crossplane, or similar cloud infrastructure provisioning tools.
- Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar logging and monitoring tools.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure design, architecture, and migration strategies.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding workflows, LLM-powered development tools, spec-driven development, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred qualifications include a related master's degree, cloud or Kubernetes certifications, multi-cloud architecture experience, end-to-end platform leadership, AI/ML or data platform experience, workflow automation experience, open-source contributions, and experience building AI agents and MCP integrations at scale.
