
Lead Software Engineer - Platform Services

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and resilient platform services.
- Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions across multiple engineering teams.
- Design and deliver high-scale distributed systems and APIs for global digital experiences.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape technical roadmaps.
- Promote engineering excellence in system design, testing, observability, scalability, and operational maturity.
- Advance cloud-native engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Evaluate technologies and workflows that improve developer productivity and software quality.
- Mentor and coach engineers while fostering ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Evolve platform capabilities supporting dynamic and personalized customer experiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining large-scale production services.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical subject, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience building high-scale microservices on AWS, GCP, or another public cloud platform.
- Experience with AWS services, NoSQL and graph databases, and data-streaming technologies.
- Backend development experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with web security, JWT lifecycle management, CORS, CSP, and XSS prevention.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Codex.
- Experience with test-driven development and frameworks such as Jest and Playwright.
- Experience with service orchestration tools such as Terraform.
- Preferred experience implementing consumer or B2C identity packages such as Okta or Auth0 and identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
