Base Salary
$156k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain software applications and services.
- Build and scale high-load microservices and APIs using modern architectural principles and design patterns.
- Lead feature development from requirements and design documentation through implementation, review, testing, and production rollout.
- Conduct impact analysis across multiple applications and propose effective solutions to production problems.
- Write unit tests, validate software against acceptance criteria, and advocate for coding, documentation, and testing standards.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, sprint commitments, continuous learning activities, and production support rotations.
- Coach and mentor less experienced software engineers and review their code, designs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with product management, peers, and technical leadership to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go/Golang and solid object-oriented programming skills.
- Experience with data modeling, design, messaging, and mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Experience with software development processes including Agile/ScrUM and Waterfall.
- Proven ability to lead feature development and coordinate across teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration, autonomy, and stakeholder-influence skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support production systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, experience with Kotlin, Rust, C#, C++, or other high-performance languages, and experience migrating monoliths to microservices.
- Preferred qualifications include database tuning and query optimization experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, and SRE best practices.
