Base Salary
$160k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end board bring-up from initial power-on through production readiness, including bootloader configuration, BSP customization, peripheral driver integration, and system validation.
- Own the technical direction and development of embedded software for video networking, UI display, and machine learning applications on Linux-based systems.
- Design test strategies and acceptance criteria for board functionality, peripheral interfaces, and system performance, and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues.
- Partner with hardware engineers to identify, root-cause, and resolve board-level issues during early development.
- Architect automated test frameworks for board validation and regression testing across multiple platform variants.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on debugging.
- Author and maintain design specifications, bring-up procedures, and failure analysis reports for FDA-regulated development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 3 years, or equivalent experience.
- Expert proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems, including memory management, real-time constraints, and performance-critical code.
- Experience with bare-metal systems and embedded Linux, including kernel internals, device drivers, BSP bring-up, and user-space applications.
- Proficiency with GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and cross-compilation toolchains.
- Hands-on experience with I2C, I2S, T1S, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, and CAN interfaces and driver development.
- Experience debugging complex hardware, FPGA, and software integration failures.
- Ability to mentor and technically develop junior and mid-level engineers and communicate effectively in documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Preferred experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms or comparable ARM-based SoCs, GPU acceleration with CUDA, TensorRT, QNX or other real-time operating systems, Python, Bash, and regulated or mission-critical product development.
