Responsibilities
- Own the target-state architecture and standards for Smartsheet’s AI platform across data, agents, knowledge graphs, and context graphs.
- Define the agent harness and sub-agent framework, including orchestration, lifecycle, hand-off contracts, evaluations, and capability tiers.
- Design schemas, ontologies, ingestion and freshness pipelines, and retrieval and grounding patterns.
- Build reusable reference agent frameworks, skills libraries, tools libraries, interface contracts, and versioning models.
- Prototype new agent, retrieval, and partner capabilities and define criteria for promoting them into supported production capabilities.
- Define deployment, security, governance, observability, and AI governance patterns.
- Lead technical relationships with Databricks, AWS, Anthropic, and other strategic technology partners.
- Align architecture decisions across teams, support Forward Deployed Engineering, and drive escalations to closure.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience architecting production agentic systems on Databricks Platform, AWS Bedrock or AgentCore, and MCPs.
- Experience designing agent harnesses and orchestration, sub-agent boundaries, tracing, observability, evaluations, governance, responsible AI, and cost and latency instrumentation at platform scale.
- Strong experience with knowledge and context graph systems, ontology design, ingestion pipelines, and retrieval and grounding evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype and ship working software and design reusable versioned interfaces adopted by multiple teams.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Bedrock, Strands SDK, MCP, and modern LLM and agent tooling.
- Experience serving as a technical lead in strategic partner relationships and translating partner roadmaps into platform decisions.
- Ability to establish cross-team technical standards and influence without formal management authority.
- Strong architectural judgment across model selection, inference, deployment, and governance, plus excellent cross-functional communication.
- Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis.
