Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex systems within the Advisor Experience team.
- Guide full stack development practices and uphold high standards in quality.
- Collaborate with senior engineering leaders to advance Betterment's technology.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering growth.
- Build tools that enhance user experience and simplify complex needs.
- Maintain clean code and efficient software to save customers time and money.
Requirements
- Proven experience in scoping, building, and leading technical projects from discovery to release.
- Experience with at least one server-side language, preferably Ruby on Rails.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.
- Strong understanding of technical design and architecture for web applications.
- Ability to gather inputs and make inclusive technical decisions.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Commitment to mentoring and upskilling teammates.
- Passion for software engineering and creating innovative solutions.
- Ability to make tradeoffs to ship quality products.
