Responsibilities
- Lead a large multidisciplinary software development and test organization supporting mission-critical ISS systems.
- Oversee software development and test planning, technical documentation, configuration and change control, staffing, budgeting, cost and schedule estimating, software release coordination, and program reporting.
- Represent the organization at NASA-chaired boards and panels, including presenting positions, negotiating schedules, resolving action items, and committing organizational plans.
- Coordinate technical execution with program management and communicate with engineers, management, government customers, and program stakeholders.
- Develop staffing plans, proposal estimates, statements of work, and requirements for potential new business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus 15 years of software or systems engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading software development and test organizations or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience with software development schedules, cost management, staffing plans, and Estimate-at-Completion activities.
- Experience working directly with NASA or other government customers and presenting technical and program status at formal reviews, boards, or panels.
- Experience with software configuration management, change control, software releases, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, software integration, and test processes, preferably in aerospace, NASA, Boeing, or complex government programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to brief and coordinate with engineers, customers, and senior management.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation, with eligibility for access to classified information.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, adjust schedules for peak or surge periods, and meet physical and mobility requirements involving office, test-facility, and occasional outdoor work.
