Responsibilities
- Design and build intuitive, consistent public-facing APIs for Wise Platform partners.
- Own technical roadmaps across the squad or tribe, including technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security priorities.
- Architect robust and scalable microservices using event-driven design patterns.
- Influence product roadmaps and strategy with product management and cross-functional partners.
- Lead high-impact problems and cross-team initiatives that unlock features and value for partners.
- Mentor and influence engineers and technical leads through code reviews and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in modern Java or another JVM-based language and experience with the Spring framework.
- Deep experience building and operating microservices, including distributed systems, concurrency patterns, and event-driven architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems and designing scalable event pipelines.
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, schema design, and data lifecycle management for sensitive information.
- Product-oriented thinking, customer focus, and experience using data to shape roadmaps and resolve partner problems.
- Experience leading cross-team and interdisciplinary initiatives while producing clean, well-tested, performant code.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and guide decisions.
