Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, debug, and document complex information systems and application programs.
- Develop and support .NET Core applications, web services, APIs, batch processing solutions, and legacy platforms undergoing modernization.
- Troubleshoot complex system integrations and respond to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Participate in production support and an on-call rotation approximately four times per year, with one week of coverage per rotation.
- Define system scope and objectives and optimize capacity, operating time, response time, and output requirements.
- Serve in project roles such as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead, and manage phases of medium to large efforts.
- Maintain the technical skills needed to support assigned software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks.
- Provide guidance and training to less-experienced analysts and programmers and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
- At least 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards is required.
- At least 3 years of systems and programming experience is required.
- At least 1 year of expert working knowledge of a programming language used at BCBST is required.
- Experience developing enterprise applications with .NET Core and strong SQL skills are required.
- Experience troubleshooting complex system integrations and supporting large-scale application environments is required.
- Experience participating in production support and on-call rotations is required.
- Proven information technology, analysis, design, and coding skills are required.
- Demonstrated success leading large and complex projects, interpreting technical concepts, managing multiple tasks, and communicating with technical and non-technical personnel is required.
- Preferred qualifications include healthcare industry experience, API development, ETL or data movement, batch processing, service-oriented architecture, JavaScript, jQuery, Entity Framework, GraphQL, REST APIs, COBOL, and AIX experience.
