Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of complex front-end systems using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and state management libraries.
- Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, Core Web Vitals, startup time, buffering, memory usage, rendering performance, errors, and engagement.
- Ensure consistent experiences across desktop browsers, mobile web, Tizen, and webOS Smart TV platforms.
- Integrate player interfaces with HTML5 video playback engines using MSE and EME.
- Customize video player UI, buffering logic, error handling, and adaptive bitrate behavior.
- Design analytics and observability frameworks for playback quality, engagement, and rollout decisions.
- Debug and resolve production issues while minimizing customer impact.
- Apply web security practices involving XSS prevention, CSP, CORS, secure media playback, and DRM-related threats.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to turn wireframes into reusable components.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional modern web development experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of TypeScript, React, Next.js, and CSS-in-JS using styled-components or Tailwind.
- Hands-on experience with HTML5 video players and SDKs such as Shaka Player, HLS.js, Video.js, and Dash.js.
- Expert knowledge of HLS and MPEG-DASH, including manifests, segmenting, DRM, and adaptive bitrate streaming.
- Experience with Webpack, Vite, Rollup, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production-ready releases.
- Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
