Responsibilities
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines for device and platform testing, including hardware-in-the-loop execution and large-scale device orchestration.
- Develop automated validation for device state machines, triggers, connectivity flows, telemetry pipelines, and device-to-cloud synchronization.
- Maintain, implement, and extend automation frameworks and tools for device and cloud platform testing.
- Investigate device and platform failures using logs, telemetry data, debug traces, and system metrics.
- Automate testing for device provisioning, OTA updates, connectivity recovery, error handling, and lifecycle workflows.
- Participate in design discussions to improve testability, observability, and reliability across device and cloud systems.
- Mentor junior engineers on automation development, distributed-system debugging, and scalable test strategies.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in test automation, software engineering, or SDET roles.
- Strong coding skills in Python, C#, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, or Go.
- Understanding of state machines, event-driven systems, real-time execution, and hardware interactions.
- Experience diagnosing failures with logs, traces, and serial-level diagnostics.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated hardware test environments.
- Ability to deliver reliable automation for complex cloud or firmware features.
- Understanding of test flakiness and how to prevent or resolve automation instability.
- DevOps candidates should have experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and release management.
- Embedded or firmware candidates should have experience with C/C++, Embedded Linux, RTOS, or MCUs.
- Experience with real systems, firmware testing, IoT devices, hardware-in-the-loop systems, BLE, WiFi, USB, robotics, control systems, or device-based products is preferred.
