Responsibilities
- Own technical solution designs for medium-to-high complexity features.
- Create and maintain architecture artifacts including HLDs, current-versus-target-state documentation, context diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
- Evaluate design trade-offs such as latency versus throughput and synchronous versus asynchronous calls.
- Drive reference implementations and proof-of-concepts.
- Govern design reviews and track technical risks, assumptions, and decisions.
- Identify and validate non-functional requirements.
- Create and enforce enterprise standards for identity, logging, APIs, and cloud patterns.
- Maintain current-state ecosystem documentation and curate an internal enterprise architecture knowledge base.
- Evolve architecture principles, standards, and best practices through the Architecture Review Board and project work.
- Ensure alignment across enterprise, solution, and technical architecture layers.
- Design for scalability, performance, resilience, security, compliance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Coach junior architects and foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Support technology innovation and large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Five to seven years of software engineering experience, including at least four years delivering complex distributed systems through architecture design and support.
- Proficiency with AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms and AI/ML enablement.
- Expertise in API management, microservices, and distributed systems architecture.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, FACETS, ServiceNow, Matillion, Apigee, Snowflake, and data warehousing practices and tools.
- Experience with data architecture, analytics platforms, and data governance.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and produce clear architecture diagrams.
- Experience with software development, integration, configuration management, and project management office reporting practices.
- Ability to design using cloud-native patterns and support reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Strong communication, presentation, consensus-building, adaptability, and influence-without-authority skills.
- Experience working in agile or waterfall environments.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in a technical discipline, experience with multiple platforms, operating systems, RDBMS, and integrated development environments, and two or more years in the healthcare or insurance industry.
