Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and data pipelines for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving sensor datasets.
- Develop scalable systems using Python and AWS cloud services.
- Build APIs, data services, and tooling for efficient access to autonomous vehicle data.
- Improve platform reliability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Own production services and participate in troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Optimize storage, compute, and data movement costs while maintaining performance and availability.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Support infrastructure automation and operational excellence across the platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong software development experience in Python.
- Experience building and operating backend services, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms.
- Professional experience with AWS and deploying applications to Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestrators.
- Experience designing data pipelines, ETL systems, or data processing frameworks.
- Experience developing containerized applications, backend microservices, and event-driven systems or data pipelines.
- Past experience in the autonomous driving or automotive industry, specifically backend and cloud development.
- Preferred: strong ownership and project delivery experience from design through production operations.
- Preferred: experience building distributed systems or cloud data platforms processing large-scale datasets.
