Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, platform-agnostic, secure backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Integrate endpoints, data sources, and relational, NoSQL, and in-memory databases.
- Develop and maintain secure, scalable REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Implement application security and data protection practices.
- Write unit and integration tests using Jest or Mocha.
- Optimize backend performance, data designs, and schemas while resolving bottlenecks.
- Follow API versioning and deprecation policies.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment and continuous integration processes.
- Maintain source code, API, DFS, IFS, and knowledgebase documentation.
- Mentor junior backend engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production incidents and issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of professional backend development experience focused on Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of backend build tools, configuration tools, and package managers.
- Proficiency creating RESTful APIs; GraphQL implementation experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with Jest, Mocha, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with operating systems and server management is a plus.
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to debug complex issues with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with microservices and the Serverless framework, including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and containerized development environments is a plus.
