Base Salary
$171k - $214k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve architecture strategy for agentic AI and the broader SaaS platform in alignment with product and business priorities.
- Design architectural approaches for agent orchestration, multi-agent systems, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation, observability, guardrails, and production deployment.
- Create reusable reference implementations and technical foundations for standardized AI-powered product development.
- Lead platform modernization, migration, refactoring, and unification efforts to improve scalability, resilience, and engineering velocity.
- Evaluate models, tools, frameworks, and infrastructure options and coordinate infrastructure selection, implementation, and rollout.
- Partner with the CTO, Product, Engineering, DevOps, Security, and other technical leaders on architecture and execution plans.
- Establish standards for testing, evaluating, monitoring, governing, and securing AI and agentic systems.
- Influence engineering teams through architecture reviews, prototypes, technical guidance, and hands-on technical problem-solving.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success designing and evolving complex, scalable SaaS platforms and distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in software and systems architecture with the ability to combine strategic decision-making and hands-on execution.
- Experience designing or delivering production AI systems, including agent architecture, orchestration, retrieval patterns, evaluation, observability, guardrails, and operational reliability.
- Proven ability to lead major modernization, migration, refactoring, or platform-unification initiatives across complex technical environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native, event-driven, and service-oriented architecture patterns.
- Ability to critically evaluate emerging AI approaches and distinguish production-ready capabilities from experimentation.
- Experience influencing senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners without formal people-management authority.
- Strong judgment regarding security, reliability, governance, data considerations, and responsible AI use.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex architectural and AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on, experimentation-oriented approach with the discipline to turn successful exploration into scalable production systems.
