Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, estimates, IT planning, risk assessment, application development, model development, and implementation of new or revised systems.
- Design, construct, test, implement, monitor, and support application systems for business users.
- Develop scalable and performant software platforms for data computation and processing using Core Java and Apache Spark.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Optimize database schemas and queries and work with caching solutions.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups on application issues and system solutions.
- Define operating standards and ensure required procedures, controls, and compliance practices are followed.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to new or lower-level analysts.
- Assess and escalate technology, operational, and business risks appropriately.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience using Core Java, Apache Spark, and big-data technologies including HDFC and Hive.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience developing highly scalable and performant software platforms for data computation and processing.
- Expert knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming concepts, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark using Java.
- Experience with caching solutions such as Pinot and Redis.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, schema design, and query optimization.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases, and operating systems.
- Experience with Unix-based operating systems, shell scripting, and SQL queries.
- Experience with source-code management tools such as Bitbucket and Git.
- Experience in systems analysis, software application programming, and successful project implementation.
- Working knowledge of consulting and project-management techniques and methods.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, independent-working, deadline-management, and adaptability skills.
- Banking-domain experience, including pricing or risk, is a plus.
