Responsibilities
- Work as part of the software development team on software features and bugs.
- Address customer escalations to engineering and diagnose complex production issues.
- Provide workarounds, fixes, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for customer problems.
- Develop automation tools and serviceability improvements to identify bottlenecks and improve product debuggability.
- Engage with customers and support teams to resolve production issues.
- Design and develop solutions for customer requirements involving complex distributed systems.
- Troubleshoot Nutanix Kubernetes Platform deployments, upgrades, migrations, scalability, and networking issues.
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Prism Central, and dependent Nutanix services including MSP, IAM, Object Storage, and Self-Service.
- Collaborate with software development, QA, documentation, product management, and other DevEx teams.
- Develop and maintain reliable, field-serviceable software components in a Linux environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4–6 years of industry experience, or a master’s degree in Computer Science and 2–3 years of industry experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes components, state machines, peripheral modules, deployments, and upgrades.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of C, C++, Python, or Golang.
- Extensive UNIX/Linux knowledge or expertise with Windows.
- Experience with file systems, operating systems, hypervisors, networking, and distributed systems management.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Linux KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, or Xen; KVM and VMware are preferred.
- Familiarity with operating system internals, distributed data management, and clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Strong written, verbal, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
