Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable software and data engineering solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Build and optimize Databricks ETL/ELT pipelines, including performance tuning, partitioning, file sizing, and incremental loads.
  • Create and maintain data models, database schemas, SQL queries, and Oracle PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages.
  • Handle JSON and semi-structured data across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
  • Contribute to software development lifecycle activities including design, coding, testing, deployment, debugging, documentation, and peer reviews.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and participate in planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Work with Databricks Genie Spaces and ThoughtSpot integration to Databricks.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools while validating generated outputs for correctness, performance, security, and data sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, operations, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Strong data modeling experience using ERwin, including normalization and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on Databricks data engineering experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including joins, analytic and window functions, and query optimization.
  • Strong Oracle experience with DDL/DML, schema design, PL/SQL, execution plans, indexes, partitioning, and statistics.
  • Experience parsing, flattening, and managing schema evolution for JSON and semi-structured data.
  • Experience with Databricks Genie Spaces and ThoughtSpot integration to Databricks.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows using Bitbucket and/or GitHub and familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA or similar IDEs.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate and refine their outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Preferred experience administering Unity Catalog, including catalog and schema design, permissions, lineage, and metadata patterns.
  • Preferred exposure to Docker or Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling, DevOps practices, and financial services or regulated environments.
