- Lead analytical-store migrations, including schema design, ingestion, dual-writes, and cutover sequencing.
- Build tiered-storage routing across low-latency key-value stores, aggregation systems, and long-term lakehouse archives.
- Architect fleet-scale stateful stream-processing consumers for enrichment and anomaly detection.
- Implement metrics, logging, distributed tracing, tests, and cross-system integration safeguards.
- Participate in on-call rotations, debug production incidents, and drive preventative follow-up work.
- Partner with ingestion, firmware, authentication, service engineering, product, and autonomy teams on interfaces and platform improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least two years of experience building and operating backend services in production.
- Strong proficiency in a statically typed, compiled backend language; Go and Python are primary, with Java, Rust, C++, C#, or Kotlin also applicable.
- Working knowledge of at least one database, including indexing, query planning, connection pooling, and performance behavior under load.
- Experience designing and consuming HTTP or REST APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, idempotency, and error semantics.
- Familiarity with Git, containerized local development, CI pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong written communication skills for technical decisions and merge-request discussions.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Preferred: production Go and gRPC experience, high-cardinality time-series and columnar OLAP expertise, distributed stream processing or log experience, lakehouse and machine-learning/inference pipeline experience, and AWS, Kubernetes, and observability experience in IoT, connected-device, or telematics systems.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary, annual company performance bonus eligibility, and equity in the form of RSUs for eligible full-time positions.
- Comprehensive benefits including health coverage, retirement savings, time off, and family-planning programs, with offerings varying by country.
