Base Salary
$185k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the full development lifecycle for complex motor vehicle record features, from ideation and technical design through implementation, release, and ongoing operation.
- Define and drive the technical direction of MVR systems and identify architectural improvements for reliability, speed, and extensibility.
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance services supporting MVR record ordering, retrieval, processing, normalization, and reporting.
- Partner with Data Supply Chain, Supply Chain Operations, Product, and Operations to translate provider and customer needs into scalable solutions.
- Identify systemic risks, lead incident response and root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes across MVR data flows.
- Mentor engineers and improve code quality, design reviews, and engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted tools, models, and assistants as part of the engineering workflow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building scalable backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and deep understanding of relational databases, ORMs, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience designing and maintaining reliable distributed systems, including microservices, CI/CD, and asynchronous or event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating with external data providers or third-party APIs and building accurate, resilient pipelines for inconsistent, delayed, or incomplete data.
- Ability to reason about end-to-end platforms, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and design for changing data sources, scale, and product requirements.
- Demonstrated full-cycle ownership and ability to communicate technical decisions clearly with technical and non-technical partners.
- Strong bias for action, resilience through ambiguity, and commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes.
