Responsibilities

  • Define and drive long-term platform software architecture and technical strategy for AI inferencing across Qualcomm’s edge AI products.
  • Lead cross-functional architecture initiatives spanning software, hardware, AI accelerators, security, product teams, and silicon architecture.
  • Translate AI workloads, product requirements, and technology trends into platform architecture and roadmap recommendations.
  • Drive hardware/software co-design through architectural analysis, technical proposals, and strategic technology planning.
  • Lead system-level architecture across operating systems, AI runtimes, memory systems, virtualization, security, interconnects, and heterogeneous computing.
  • Evaluate architectural alternatives and develop specifications balancing performance, power, scalability, security, and product requirements.
  • Drive organizational alignment through architecture reviews, technical leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Mentor engineers and architects and help establish architectural best practices, technical standards, and long-term technology direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 8+ years of Software Engineering or related experience; or a master’s degree plus 7+ years; or a PhD plus 6+ years.
  • 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Preferred: 15+ years architecting complex embedded, platform, or systems software solutions.
  • Demonstrated success driving architecture and technical strategy across multiple product generations and organizations.
  • Strong hardware/software interface design, system architecture, and end-to-end platform engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in several areas including SoC and computer architecture, ARM or RISC-V, Linux kernel and device drivers, memory systems, DMA, IOMMU, virtualization, security architecture, AI inferencing runtimes, compilers, LLMs, Transformer architectures, and heterogeneous computing.
  • Ability to influence senior technical leaders and drive consensus across geographically distributed teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical presentation skills.
