Responsibilities
- Design software architectures for simulation tools and models.
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity simulation models for aircraft sensors, tactical environments, communications, visualization, and aircraft equipment.
- Implement software components primarily in C++.
- Perform unit, integration, and system testing to ensure high-fidelity and reliable software and models.
- Create automation, build-pipeline, and code-generation tools.
- Lead and coordinate the Simulation-Specific Components group and its development deliverables.
- Coordinate simulation frameworks, test support systems, dedicated services, and pre-integration of internal and third-party components.
- Support architects and integration teams with bug investigations and change requests.
- Organize and chair Joint Model Office meetings and communicate with model development and integration teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive software development experience within complex, large-scale systems.
- Experience coordinating technical tasks or leading small development groups is highly desirable.
- Deep expertise in software design and procedural and object-oriented programming.
- Proven experience with unit, integration, and system testing.
- Strong background in distributed systems and simulation frameworks.
- Expert-level knowledge of C/C++.
- Knowledge of Bash or Python scripting, CMake, packaging tools such as conan.io, RPM, and DEB, and the Qt framework including QML/QtQuick.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows.
- Experience with version control systems, office applications, Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira, CI/CD or DevOps tools such as Jenkins, and software development tools such as VS Code.
- Strong communication, workflow-structuring, meeting-management, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Business-fluent English; German, Spanish, French, or Italian is a plus.
- Ability to work in an international environment and travel internationally when required.
