Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of Upstart’s data security program.
Architect and build software solutions for data protection and governance.
Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, Product, Legal, Risk, and HR teams.
Establish goals, success metrics, and accountability for data security initiatives.
Promote least-privilege access models and modern data protection patterns.
Mentor engineers and security practitioners to foster technical standards.
Continuously improve systems based on operational feedback and threats.

Extensive experience in enterprise and operational security, focusing on Data Security and Identity & Access Management.
Experience leading Data Security, DLP, or DSPM initiatives.
Proven ability to lead security programs across multiple teams.
Strong software engineering background with production-quality system design experience.
Experience launching new security capabilities in complex environments.
Deep understanding of least-privilege principles and their application at scale.
Excellent communication skills to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive meaningful change independently.
